## The Old Court House, 11 Castle Street, Christchurch
The Old Court House, located at 11 Castle Street in Christchurch, Dorset, is a Grade II listed building with a rich history. Originally constructed as a late medieval timber-framed house, it was refaced in the 18th and 19th centuries, resulting in its current L-shaped design with a thatched roof. The eastern cross wing was refaced with roughcast, while the street facade features a two-storey structure with a jettied first floor. Notable architectural elements include elaborate carved bargeboards with pendants and an embattled beam adorned with a row of shields. The first floor boasts a casement window with a dripstone above, and the shop front below is in a similar 19th-century style. The western part of the facade is plastered and includes a plinth, with a single window featuring sashes in boxed frames with glazing bars. The eastern side facade reveals substantial exposed square panel timber framing. After the demolition of the original Court Hall in the late 19th century, the Court Leet was held here for several years. (heritage.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk)
