In 1862, Munich's Königsplatz was completed, featuring the Propyläen gate and the Glyptothek museum, both designed by Leo von Klenze. The Staatliche Antikensammlungen, designed by Georg Friedrich Ziebland, was added later. During the Nazi era, the square was transformed into a central site for party events, with the Brown House, the NSDAP headquarters, located nearby. Two "Honor Temples" were erected to honor those who died in the 1923 Beer Hall Putsch; these were demolished in 1947. Post-war, the square was restored to its original appearance. Today, it serves as a cultural hub, hosting open-air concerts and housing the Kunstareal, Munich's gallery and museum quarter. (muenchen.de)
