Worcester College, Oxford, traces its origins to 1283 as Gloucester College, a Benedictine institution. Following the Dissolution of the Monasteries in 1539, the site became Gloucester Hall in 1560. In 1714, Sir Thomas Cookes refounded it as Worcester College, adopting his coat of arms. The college is renowned for its picturesque gardens and historic architecture, including medieval cottages and an 18th-century chapel. Notable alumni encompass media mogul Rupert Murdoch, television producer Russell T Davies, and US Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan. (en.wikipedia.org)
