## Tissington Hall

In 1609, Francis FitzHerbert replaced the moated manor at Tissington with a Jacobean mansion, Tissington Hall, which remains the FitzHerbert family's residence. The FitzHerberts, descendants of the Norman Norbury Hall family, acquired Tissington through Nicholas FitzHerbert's 1465 marriage to Ciceley Frauncis, heiress of Tissington. (en.wikipedia.org) The hall is notable for its central hall running from front to back, a design influenced by Hardwick Hall. Over the centuries, the hall has undergone several restorations, including 18th-century remodelling and a 20th-century addition by architect Arnold Mitchell. (her.derbyshire.gov.uk) Today, Tissington Hall continues to be the home of the FitzHerbert family, with Sir Richard FitzHerbert, the 9th Baronet, residing there. (tissingtonhall.co.uk)
