## Haslington Hall

In 1545, Admiral Sir Francis Vernon constructed Haslington Hall, incorporating elements from a medieval manor dating back to 1480. The Vernon family had acquired the Haslington estate in the 14th century through Sir Thomas Vernon's marriage to Joan Lostock, the heiress of Haslington. Notably, some timbers used in the hall's construction were reputedly salvaged from ships of the Spanish Armada in 1588. Over the centuries, the hall underwent several additions and alterations in the 16th, 17th, and 19th centuries. In the late 19th century, it was repurposed as a farmhouse. Extensive repairs and modifications were carried out in 1931. In 1970, millionaire Tony Vernon purchased the hall, restoring it over the next three decades. Following his death in 2005, the property changed ownership multiple times, including a significant sale in 2019 to retired property developer Peter Jans, who transformed it into a private residence. The hall is now a Grade I listed building, recognized for its historical and architectural significance. (en.wikipedia.org)
