## Rysstad, Valle, Norway

In 1888, Rysstad was a small village in the Setesdal valley, part of the Hylestad municipality. The area has been inhabited since the Stone Age, with archaeological finds dating back to 3,500–1,800 BC. By the late 16th century, Rysstad was established as a farmstead. In 1873, it became the administrative centre of Hylestad municipality, a role it held until 1962. The village is home to Hylestad Church, a significant local landmark. Today, Rysstad continues to serve as a cultural hub, housing the Setesdal Museum's main office and the Agder Folk Music Archive. The village also offers accommodations and workshops, such as the Sølvgarden Hotel and Silver Workshop. (lokalhistoriewiki.no)
