In October 1976, Eric's Club opened in the basement of The Fruit Exchange on Victoria Street, Liverpool, quickly becoming a pivotal venue in the city's burgeoning punk scene. Founded by Roger Eagle, Ken Testi, and Pete Fulwell, the club hosted seminal acts like The Sex Pistols, who played their only Liverpool gig there, and The Ramones. Local bands such as Echo & the Bunnymen and Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark also graced its stage. Despite its brief four-year existence, Eric's left an indelible mark on Liverpool's music heritage. In 2017, a blue plaque was unveiled at 9 Mathew Street to commemorate its influence.
