## Baddesley Clinton
In 1894, the Roman Catholic Church of St Francis of Assisi was consecrated in Baddesley Clinton, reflecting the area's enduring Catholic heritage. This followed the Ferrers family's steadfast Catholicism, which had seen them shelter persecuted priests in the 16th century. The church was rebuilt in 1870 in the French Gothic style, with the Ferrers family contributing to its construction and adornment. (sfachurch.org.uk) The Ferrers had been the manor's custodians for over 500 years, until 1940, when Thomas Walker, a relative, purchased the estate. In 1980, the National Trust acquired Baddesley Clinton, ensuring its preservation for future generations. (en.wikipedia.org)
