## High Street, West Wycombe
In 1853, Benjamin North established a furniture-making business in an old malthouse on the south side of High Street, West Wycombe. By 1870, the factory employed 150 workers, and after a fire that year, it reopened in September with 200 employees. The workforce grew to over 350 by 1892. The factory continued operations until at least the 1920s, contributing to the village's rich industrial heritage. (heritageportal.buckinghamshire.gov.uk)
