In 1988, the Plymouth Dome opened on the Hoe, commemorating the 400th anniversary of the Spanish Armada's defeat. This museum and visitor attraction featured themed galleries and observation decks overlooking Plymouth Sound. Despite attracting 2.3 million visitors, it closed in 2006 due to insufficient funding. Between 2013 and 2016, the site operated as a restaurant under celebrity chef Gary Rhodes. (en.wikipedia.org)
