## Castle of Mey
In 1952, Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother purchased the semi-derelict Barrogill Castle in Caithness, Scotland, and restored it as her Highland retreat. She renamed it the Castle of Mey, its original name, and spent three weeks each August and ten days in October there until her death in 2002.
