## Seljestadjuvet
In January 1903, postman G. Turtvedt survived being buried under a snow avalanche for 56 hours in Seljestadjuvet, a gorge in Seljestaddalen, Ullensvang municipality, Norway. The old national road through the gorge, built between 1850 and 1896, features six hairpin bends ascending from Gorsvatnet lake at 856 meters to Røldalsfjellet mountain at 1,067 meters. Today, the E134 highway tunnels through the mountain, connecting Seljestadjuvet to Håradalen in Røldal. (snl.no)
