## Manchester Town Hall
Manchester Town Hall, completed in 1877, was designed by Alfred Waterhouse in the Gothic Revival style to accommodate the city's expanding municipal needs. The building's Great Hall features murals by Ford Madox Brown, depicting Manchester's history. The clock tower, standing at 280 feet, houses the Great Abel bell, named after Mayor Abel Heywood. In 1938, the Town Hall Extension, also designed by Waterhouse, was completed to house additional municipal departments. The building is currently undergoing a £524.8 million renovation project, with reopening scheduled for spring 2027. (en.wikipedia.org)
