## Ypres Cloth Hall
In 1304, the Ypres Cloth Hall, a monumental Gothic structure, was completed, serving as the epicentre of the city's thriving cloth industry. Its 125-metre length and 70-metre belfry tower symbolised Ypres's commercial prowess. During World War I, the hall was reduced to ruins by relentless artillery fire. Between 1933 and 1967, architects J. Coomans and P.A. Pauwels meticulously reconstructed it to its former glory. Today, the building houses the In Flanders Fields Museum, preserving the city's rich heritage. In 1999, it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, recognising its architectural significance and role in the advancement of civil liberties. (en.wikipedia.org)
