## Bra-sur-Lienne, Belgium
During the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944, Bra-sur-Lienne became a strategic focal point. From 22 to 24 December, General James M. Gavin established his headquarters at the 17th–18th century Château Naveau, coordinating the 82nd Airborne Division's operations. This château, adorned with the Bronckaert de Bra d’Izier family crest above its monumental entrance, also features a commemorative plaque honouring the American presence during World War II. By the end of the conflict, Bra-sur-Lienne lay in ruins, a testament to its pivotal role in the Allied defense against the German offensive. (materielsterrestres39-45.fr)
