## Cowdray House
Cowdray House, located near Midhurst in West Sussex, was a grand Tudor mansion constructed in the 1520s by Sir David Owen, the great-uncle of Henry VIII. The house was renowned for its detailed wall paintings depicting contemporary Tudor events, which were destroyed in a fire on 24 September 1793. The ruins, now a Grade I listed monument, are set within Cowdray Park, a 16,000-acre estate that offers various country pursuits, including golf, clay-pigeon shooting, and polo. The estate remains under the ownership of Viscount Cowdray, whose family has maintained it since 1909. (en.wikipedia.org)
