## Allerford Packhorse Bridge
The Allerford Packhorse Bridge, spanning the River Aller in Somerset, England, is a medieval structure likely dating from the 15th century. Constructed of local red sandstone, it features two segmental arches and a cobbled footway approximately 1.3 metres wide. A central cutwater on the upstream side aids water flow. The bridge is Grade II* listed and a Scheduled Monument, reflecting its historical significance. Moresby later became a British naval officer and explorer, with Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea named in his honour. (briancastle.org)
