## Harvington Hall
In 1923, Mrs. Ellen Grant Ferris purchased Harvington Hall and donated it to the Archdiocese of Birmingham, ensuring its preservation. The Hall, a moated medieval and Elizabethan manor house in Worcestershire, is renowned for its numerous priest holes—secret hiding places used by Catholics during the Elizabethan era to conceal priests from persecution. These priest holes, crafted by master carpenter Nicholas Owen, are among the most extensive in England. The Hall also boasts rare Elizabethan wall paintings, some hidden under layers of plaster for centuries. Today, Harvington Hall is open to the public, offering a glimpse into England's tumultuous religious history. (en.wikipedia.org)
